JOB DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the Quality Inspector is to support the desired goal of establishing a "Work to Standard" manufacturing culture. The Quality Inspector supports this goal by first performing defined audits of product and processes against established standards and then reviewing the audit results and documented standards with workstation operators to continually improve. The quality inspector is responsible for ensure quality product is being produced and meets all required specifications. They are also responsible for ensuring routine quality inspections are being performed and are accurate. Position Responsibilities: • Perform defined audits of product and processes, and then summarizing results in electronic tablet. Audits are performed to identify quality issues and have immediate resolution. The audits also identify specific discussion topics the Quality Associate can review with the workstation operator. • Review audit findings and discuss work standards with workstation operators after every audit in order to provide immediate feedback and drive continuous improvement. • Evaluate audit findings and review with operational leaders as needed. Identify if work standards are missing, incorrect or unclear and then work to improve/resolve the issue with the standards as needed • Additional duties (assisting in product containments, summarizing audit findings at tier 1, reviewing quality documentation (IQ Reports, Quality Alerts, Test Wall Report, etc...) • Other duties assigned by supervisor Qualifications: • Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years manufacturing experience • Language Skills: Ability to read, interpret, and apply information contained in standard work documents. Effective writing and verbal skills to summarize audit findings. • Strong knowledge of product, processes, and standard work to draw upon when determining appropriate course of action to take during audit. • Awareness of impact that audits may have on manufacturing processes and ability to operate in a manner that achieves key position responsibilities while minimizing negative production impact. • Resiliency/Competency regarding understanding that the basic task of this position is to repetitively model the preferred behavior of working to standard to others who may not immediately comply.
