Job description

Join BAE Systems and become part of a collaborative team manufacturing highly reliable electronic components that support commercial, scientific, and defense-related space missions.
As an Inspector in our Component Assembly area, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of advanced microelectronic modules throughout the manufacturing process. Working in a cleanroom environment alongside engineering and production teams, you will inspect wafers, die, and modules using high- and low-magnification microscopes while following documented manufacturing processes and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) instructions.
In addition to inspection responsibilities, you will have opportunities to become certified on key manufacturing processes, including:
  • Die attach
  • Wire bonding
  • Lid seal operations
  • Automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment
  • Furnace processing and other supporting assembly operations
This role offers excellent opportunities to expand your technical skills through process certifications and cross-training that can support additional production areas, including Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) and Microwave manufacturing.
This is a first shift position working a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off!
Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspection of wafers, die, and modules using precision microscopes.
  • Follow documented manufacturing procedures and MES work instructions to ensure product quality and traceability.
  • Support component assembly operations using automated and semi-automated equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to achieve production and quality objectives.
  • Maintain strict adherence to cleanroom protocols and quality standards.
  • Obtain and maintain process certifications for inspection and manufacturing operations.
  • Support borderless manufacturing initiatives by cross-training in additional production areas as needed.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed Full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on the location at the Manassas BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
