Description

The assembly Supervisor oversees the daily operation of the assembly department and its production leaders by monitoring quality, efficiency, safety, and troubleshooting.


Responsibilities

  • Be the ย driving force on the production floor, taking ownership of the Safety, ย Quality, and Processes and providing Leadership to the employees.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output.
  • Lead a team of people in the execution of daily production tasks, work schedules, ย training, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate each station of the production process to maintain optimum efficiency
  • Create and oversee employee training to increase production, enhance safe operations, and ensure profitability
  • Ensure that established processes are being followed.
  • Coordinate tooling changes and equipment availability.
  • Coordinate with the production control department and scheduler to ensure the production ย ย ย ย ย schedule meets needs and staffing.
  • Provide feedback and updates on staffing changes, issues, and development of team members.ย 
  • Direct and ย execute the job change schedule, including seeing that materials and parts are staged at the machines for the upcoming jobs to reduce equipment ย downtime and improve setup time.
  • Ensure 5S ย standards are met and maintain a safe work environment within the molding, assembly department, and plant floor.
  • Respond to ย problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions
  • Maintain ย ย positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies.ย 
  • Foster an environment of open communication by inspiring the team and supporting the ongoing development of team members.
  • Report, ย document, and investigate any safety incidents that happen on the plant ย floor in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that Payroll is maintained and any discrepancies with time or absenteeism documentation are addressed promptly.ย 
  • Submit daily production reports to the management team per the current production reporting processes.ย 
  • Consistently meet company KPI standards for production
  • Help drive cost savings and efficiency with Kaizen improvements
  • ย Performs other duties as assigned.ย 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a molding manufacturing environment, with previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of molding processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of quality control and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects of varying sizes and weights
  • Spend significant time on their feet, walking the production floor, overseeing operations, and assisting team members.
  • Bend, stoop, or kneel to access machinery, inspect products, or perform tasks at various heights.
  • Be well-versed in safety protocols and ensure that team members follow safety guidelines. This includes using personal protective equipment (PPE) and identifying and mitigating safety hazards.
