Job description

Job Title: Assembly Operator

Location: Bristol, RI 02809
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)

Job Summary:

The Assembly Operator is responsible for performing manual and semi-automated assembly of Thermoplastic and Thermoset components according to customer specifications. The role requires experience with tools such as engraver units, hydraulic presses, potting compound systems, and various inspection instruments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual assembly operations including adhesive application, part insertion, and marking of Thermoplastic and Thermoset parts
  • Use semi-automated tools such as:
  • Pneumatic crimping tools
  • Hydraulic presses
  • Engraver units
  • Potting compound systems
  • Inspect and measure parts using calipers, micrometers, height stands, and CMM tools
  • Set up and execute new job assignments with minimal supervision and minimal scrap/fallout
  • Maintain workspace in accordance with 5S principles before, during, and after shift
  • Follow verbal and written instructions strictly; complete all required documentation accurately
  • Identify and escalate quality issues and assist in training junior operators
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to output, cost, quality, and delivery
  • Adhere to high attendance standards and production schedules

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • 1+ years of hands-on assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with semi-automated manufacturing tools
  • Proficiency in using basic measurement tools and interpreting results
  • Strong computer and math skills
