Position Details
Job Title: Assembler
Location: Orlando, FL
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Assignment Length: 12 Months
Schedule: Monday-Thursday (4x10 Schedule)
Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM EST
About the Role
As an Assembler, you will help build critical electromechanical systems used in advanced aerospace and aviation applications. From power distribution load boxes and control panels to joysticks and mechanical assemblies, your work will directly support the performance, reliability, and quality of innovative products.
This role combines mechanical assembly, electrical integration, quality inspection, and continuous improvement efforts in a collaborative manufacturing environment focused on excellence.
What You'll Do
Mechanical Assembly
  • Assemble chassis, structural frames, optical modules, and cooling systems
  • Perform mechanical joining using:
    • Threaded fasteners
    • Rivets
    • Adhesives
    • Torque-controlled fastening methods
  • Install handles, switches, LEDs, push buttons, and other assembly components
Electrical Integration
  • Install and connect wiring harnesses, connectors, power distribution boards, and SSR modules
  • Route and dress cables according to EMC guidelines
  • Strip, crimp, and terminate wires and connectors
  • Support electrical and electromechanical assembly operations
Quality & Documentation
  • Read and interpret:
    • Blueprints
    • Schematics
    • Bills of Material (BOMs)
    • Work instructions
  • Perform workmanship and functional inspections
  • Verify assemblies meet quality and specification requirements
  • Document work performed and inspection results within the MRP system
  • Participate in troubleshooting, rework, and corrective actions as needed
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Support 6S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute ideas that improve safety, quality, and productivity
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of hands-on assembly experience in one of the following environments:
    • Aerospace
    • Defense
    • Industrial Manufacturing
    • Automotive Manufacturing
  • Experience assembling electromechanical systems
  • Proficiency using:
    • Crimping tools
    • Soldering equipment
    • Torque tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and BOMs
  • Working knowledge of basic continuous improvement practices, including 6S or Kaizen
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Commitment to safety and process compliance
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve technical skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years assembling aerospace, defense, or high-end optical systems
  • Completed WHMA-A-620 Training or current WHMA-A-620 Certification demonstrating Class 3 workmanship
  • Current J-STD-001 Certification
  • Associate degree in a technical field
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Experience participating in Kaizen events and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of quality and manufacturing best practices
