 Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? The Alfond Youth & Community Center is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and energetic professional to join our After School Program team as our Assistant Site Coordinator at our Benton location. In this dynamic leadership role, you will help create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where youth can learn, grow, build friendships, and develop lifelong skills. Working alongside the ASP Site Supervisor and a dedicated team of Youth Activities Specialists, you will help plan and deliver educational, recreational, and social-emotional programming that inspires and empowers children every day. If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and enjoy being a positive role model for youth, we encourage you to apply! 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the supervisor in planning, implementing, supervising, and facilitating a complete and diversified educational, social, and recreational program and activities for the children in the childcare program.
  • Work with the ASP Site Supervisor to complete the registration process, staff group assignments, and activities.
  • Help to identify and manage child behavior issues and assist the ASP site supervisor with communicating to parents/guardians any concerns or documentation.
  • Guide any member with behavior, attitude, or emotional problems to a healthy and productive conclusion.
  • Collaborate with the Youth Activities Specialists weekly on best strategies for large group management and implementing academic, recreational, and social-emotional activities.
  • Observe and Assist the Youth Activities Specialists in organizing and implementing activities with groups.
  • Work with ASP Site Supervisor on staff scheduling, planning, implementing, and supervising programs and activities. To include monthly themes, special events, summer events, special guests, etc. 
  • Offer tours of the ASP to potential families and assist in the marketing of the programs and activities.


Requirements

 KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED. 
  • CPR & First Aid Certification

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in childcare, group social work, recreational field, social education field, and/or outdoor or camp programs.
