Job Overview
The ASL Instructor will lead a fun, engaging introduction to American Sign Language for elementary school students. The instructor should be comfortable working with children and able to guide students through basic ASL signs, vocabulary, and simple conversations in an interactive learning environment. This is a Part-Time role. Please make sure to look at the location, dates, and times and available for the entire program.
Responsibilities
  • Lead an ASL enrichment class for elementary students and 18+ adults
  • Teach basic American Sign Language signs, vocabulary, and communication skills
  • Create a supportive and engaging classroom environment
  • Manage classroom behavior in a positive and professional manner
  • Follow any provided lesson plans or activities from the primary instructor/program coordinator
  • Arrive on time and prepared to lead the class

Qualifications
  • Experience with American Sign Language (fluency or strong working knowledge preferred)
  • Experience working with children in an educational, camp, or enrichment setting
  • Reliable and able to step in when needed
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for teaching and engaging with students
  • Ideal for educators, ASL interpreters, students studying ASL, or instructors with teaching experience.

  • Dates: 8/31, 9/2, 9/9, 9/14, 9/16, 9/21, 9/23, 9/28, 9/30, 10/5, 10/7, 10/19, 10/21, 10/26, 10/28.
  • Times: 5pm to 6pm
  • Days: Monday and Wednesday. No class on 9/7 because of Labor day.
  • This is at the Elementary School so K to 4th or 5th.
  • Job Type: Part-time
