Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to Define, design, verify, and create documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multi-dimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route and timing and power use. Analyze equipment to establish operation data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results. May also review vendor capability to support development. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company products.

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following:
  • Logic and circuit design;
  • RTL Design and coding;
  • Functional verification of microprocessors;
  • ASIC Design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis);
  • Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification;
  • Physical design of deep submicron digital ASIC chips;
  • Back-End (physical design) EDA tools; and
  • Front-End EDA tools.
