Job description

We are seeking an Options Market Making Trader to further expand our coverage during Asian market hours. The trading shift runs from 4 pm - 1 am CT, with expectation to spend flexible time outside of trading on cross-shift training and strategy improvements. The role operates Sunday through Thursday with optionality for remote and/or on-site work.ย ย 

The successful candidate will begin with aย training programย spanning different shiftsย (schedule will be tailoredย to candidate, but potential to spend time with Chicago, Asian, and European shifts) andย productsย includingย S&P, Metals,ย Nasdaq, Russell, and Vix options. During this training period, you will master proprietary execution, fitting,ย portfolio management,ย and post-trade analysis tools while developing a comprehensive understanding of CTC's options trading strategies.ย ย 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Maintain trading schedule fromย 4ย pm toย 1ย amย CTย (with flexible time outside of trading hours for cross-shift training and strategy improvements)ย 
  • Ensure daily production system readinessย 
  • Execute trading (majority electronic, someย brokerย call around) and portfolio managementย ย 
  • Performย real-time recalibration of system controlsย toย dynamically match the trading environmentย 
  • Effectively bridge theย handoff between shifts by communicatingย relevant risk information, trading flows, and system issuesย 
  • Contribute to executionย improvementsย and strategic projects during non-tradingย hoursย 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 2 years of options market making trading experienceย 
  • Minimum 1 year of market making portfolio management experienceย ย 
  • Interested inย building longer term stability in our Asianย hoursย operationย 
  • Strong operational skillset toย partner with technologists on prevention and quick resolution ofย system issues/outagesย 
  • Strong judgement to makeย trading and portfolio management decisions under pressure and withย moreย independence givenย more limitedย shift supportย 
  • Ability toย distillย influx ofย information toย prioritizeย and addressย the most important thing at any given momentย 
  • Proactive communicator and self-starter who can effectively coordinate between shiftsย and takeย initiative to ensure continuous personal developmentย 

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience in S&P, Metals, Nasdaq, Russell, or Vix options market making tradingย 
  • Basic proficiency in Python programmingย
