Job description

PM Hotel Group is looking for an Area Director Asia Sales to oversee the Asia Wholesale FIT (Japan, Korea, China) market and maximize relationships, partnerships and revenue for all Hawaii PM Hotel Group properties (Queen Kapiolani Hotel Waikiki Beach, Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach and dual property Hyatt Place at Ho'opili and Hyatt House at Ho'opili).
Consistently provide a high level of exposure of the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone contact, written communications and involvement in the community. Handle the Asia Markets and establish client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and/or corporate businesses through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel to ensure that room night sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing and negotiating contracts.
  • Conducting site tours.
  • Traveling for sales calls, client visits, etc.
  • Designing and implementing sales action plans.
  • Creating and implementing promotions.
  • Maintaining and developing business contacts.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • To work to attain personal and team sales goals and assist sister hotels with strategic direction as it relates to achievement of key and target account revenue targets.
  • Actively prospect and qualify new business.
  • Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Accurately produce and/or review all sales contracts, rate agreements.
  • May assist in developing and implementing sales plans.
  • May also participate in the annual budgeting and planning process.
  • To monitor group arrival/departure patterns, rate, room blocks, public space allocation, and special negotiations.
  • To develop and maintain a strong working relationship with representatives of companies in outside markets to promote business.
  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of Asia Market Wholesale experience.
  • Must have minimum three years' experience in Sales in the hotel industry.
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (verbal and written) is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales and Marketing or Hotel Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of direct team management experience.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and hotel sales automation.

  • The projected annual salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $135,000.00. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new associates are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
