Job description

Join the Asher + Rye Cafe Team!

The Asher + Rye team is seeking hardworking, service-oriented individuals to join our busy cafe crew. As a barista, you will be responsible for serving all Asher + Rye products with friendly, personalized attention to every customer. Each team member, whether in the café or sales, represents the entire lifestyle shop professionally.


Position Overview:

- Open, maintain, and close the coffee shop daily

- Handle cash, greet guests warmly, and create a memorable experience

- Prepare and serve smoothies and pastries

- Assist with food prep and product sales

- Operate shop equipment, including the espresso machine and POS system

- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the café and outdoor tables

- Support the Bay 1 product sales, noting product information accurately

- Help with food storage and supply management

- Communicate with managers about equipment maintenance and any concerns


Schedule & Availability:

- Full-time: 35-40 hours per week required

- Availability required on weekends and throughout holiday seasons

- Hours: Mon-Sun, 9 AM - 5 PM (scheduled up to an hour before opening and after closing; schedule may change)


Compensation:

$12 to $14 per hour, depending on experience + tips after training completion

Qualifications & Requirements:

- 2+ years of café or coffee experience preferred

- High school diploma or GED required

- Prior retail or customer service experience is a plus

- Serve Safe Certification preferred

- Dependable transportation; street parking available

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely

- Quick learner with self-motivation

- A team player with a sense of urgency and efficiency
