Position Summary

The Learning Management Systems (LMS) Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and delivering engaging training solutions that support NIH/HHS Learning Management System users. This role applies adult learning principles and a structured instructional design methodology to develop high-quality instructor-led and online learning experiences. The specialist will create accessible, SCORM-compliant eLearning content using Articulate 360, facilitate live virtual training sessions, and produce documentation that supports the ongoing success of the LMS training program.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain LMS training materials using adult learning principles and best practices.
  • Follow a systematic instructional design approach for training development, implementation, maintenance, documentation, review, and approval processes.
  • Develop interactive online learning modules using Articulate 360 (Storyline 360 and/or Rise 360).
  • Create scenario-based learning activities and assessments that measure learner comprehension and knowledge retention.
  • Develop SCORM-compliant eLearning modules that meet Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Conduct live virtual instructor-led training (VILT) sessions, webinars, and user training.
  • Develop and maintain training documentation, user guides, job aids, and instructional materials.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify training needs and update course content.
  • Maintain organized training records, documentation, and version control.
  • Provide excellent customer support to LMS users while promoting continuous learning and system adoption.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated background in adult learning methodologies and instructional design.
  • Experience following a structured approach to training development, implementation, and maintenance, including documentation and review/approval processes.
  • Experience conducting live virtual training sessions.
