Job description

The Staff Pad has partnered with a premier fine art logistics company to hire dependable, detail-oriented Art Handlers / Movers in their Brooklyn location. This organization specializes in the transportation, storage, handling, and installation of fine art, antiques, and high-value personal effects for clients across the country.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in moving, warehousing, logistics, or specialized transportation who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in handling valuable items with precision and care. You'll work alongside experienced drivers and team members to ensure every item is packed, transported, documented, and delivered safely.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with local and interstate collections and deliveries of fine art, antiques, and personal effects
  • Safely pack, handle, and transport fragile, oversized, and high-value items
  • Load and unload trucks using proper equipment and safe handling techniques
  • Support installation and placement projects at client locations
  • Complete condition checks, reports and job documentation accurately and thoroughly
  • Ensure that any changes to the daily trip manifest are reported to and approved by the Operations Manager or Dispatch Manager before implementing
  • Partner with drivers to ensure vehicles are clean, organized, properly loaded, & ready for transport
  • Determine and verify the necessary goods at the start of every day or trip according to the daily trip sheet or manifest
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including inventory management, scanning, and item tracking
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail throughout every stage of the moving and handling process
  • Follow all company safety standards, procedures, and operational protocols
  • Able to follow instructions while working with small crews

Employees starting or ending their day at off-site locations must complete and submit a supervisor signed manual timesheet within 24 hours

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in moving, warehousing, logistics, transportation, or art handling on local & interstate basis preferred
  • Understanding inventory processes and the ability to learn proper handling, transportation, and installation of furniture, fine art, and antiques
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to complete detailed paperwork and condition reports accurately
  • Professional attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Experience using pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to push and pull up to 120 pounds using appropriate equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift throughout the workday
