Job description

Position:                                  Art Teacher
Qualifications:                       
Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Middle School Art Endorsement or
K-12 Special License Endorsed for Art or Visual Arts
Reports to:                              Building Principal or Designee
Job Goal:                                The Art Teacher understands the sensory elements and organizational principals, and expressive qualities of the arts.
Examples of Duties:
 
  • Ability to implement art curriculum across grade levels (K-9)
  • Must use IL Learning Standards in designing, and implementing art instructions.
  • Ability to integrate art across the curriculum
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of fine arts.
  • Familiarity with tools and resources necessary to provide art instruction
  • Ability to individualize instruction
  • Strong collaborative skills with colleagues and parents
  • Strong work ethic
  • Support the District's policies and procedures related to:
    • Teaching and learning
    • Grading
    • General instruction
  • Strong classroom management and organization
  • Strict adherence to safety
  • Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of students
