Job description

Are you a culinary enthusiast with a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences? We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at Armor Brewing Co. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen and ensuring the delivery of high-quality cuisine to our valued customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and develop creative menus that align with our culinary concept and target audience.
  • Assist in supervising and training kitchen staff, ensuring proper techniques, procedures, and hygiene standards are followed at all times.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and quality in all dishes.
  • Manage inventory levels, monitor food costs, and assist in ordering supplies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Act as a mentor to junior members of the team, providing guidance, support, and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen operations, actively participating in menu development, and suggesting process enhancements.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing special events, catering services, and private dining experiences as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment. (2-5 years)
  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and food presentation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Education and Certification:

  • Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred.
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training is highly desirable.
