Job Description

The Warehouse Manager maintains receiving, warehousing and operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and policies. Completes warehouse operational requirements by supervising, scheduling and assigning employees including movers and drivers. Perform HHG packing/unpacking, loading/unloading of goods; as well as operate a CMV.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations
  • Maintain record keeping and warehouse documentation
  • Supervise and/or assist with loading outbound storage
  • Company liaison when performing customers’ moves
  • Operates CMV
  • Strategically and effectively manage HHG crews on local moves
  • Supervise and/or assist with unloading, checking off, and vaulting inbound storage
  • Setting up trailers and straight truck for both road and local work
  • International wrapping, packing, loading, blocking, and bracing
  • Provide training of new hires and/or re-train employees to perform work meeting company standards of quality service
  • Prepare appropriate reports, to include trailer report, inventory of packing supplies/office items, etc.
  • Prepare appropriate paperwork, reweighs, and documentation related to moves
  • Maintain an organize and clean warehouse
  • Assist with fueling company fleet, when needed
  • Perform any and all job assignment as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience, preferred
  • CDL Class A and clean Driving Record
  • Minimum 5 year of HHG warehouse related experience
  • Organizational skills
  • Knowledge of SOP for international cargo
  • Computer Skills: BS, Microsoft Office, Internet
  • Ability to become forklift certified.

Physical Requirements:

Must be DOT medically qualified.

Must be capable of working under pressure as well as communicating,

organizing and planning efficiently.

Must be able to receive and follow, as well as give detailed instructions.

Must be able to shift gears. Requires upper body forces up to (20 lbs.) up to

(160 / hr.)

Must drive truck to / from destination. Requires tolerance of seated posture up to (1 hr.) continuously, for a total of up to (11 hrs.) per (14 hrs.).

Must perform various tasks, including loading /unloading. Requires walking up to (1.0 mile), in (1 day).

Must be able to access tractor (20” step). Requires climbing stairs up to (1 step / hr.) in (20”) increments.

Must tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures, while

driving.

Requires (Near / far / depth / color) vision while performing various tasks,

including while driving truck to and from destination.

Must be capable to transfer pieces of furniture (armoire, dresser, etc.) between the residence and the trailer (250 lbs. total weight – two man job). Requires vertically / horizontally transferring pieces of furniture (armoire, dresser, etc.) weighing up to (125 lbs.) from (5”) to (30”), up to (10 / hr.), a distance of up to (100 feet) without mechanical assistance.

Must be capable to transfer pieces of furniture, personal items between the residence and the trailer. Requires vertically / horizontally transferring pieces of furniture, personal items weighing up to (30 lbs.) from (1”) to (36”), up to (15 / hr.), a distance of up to (100 feet) without mechanical assistance.

Must be able to pack and stack boxes with books. Requires vertically

transferring boxes with books weighing up to (50 lbs.) from (1”) to (36”), up to

(8/hr.).

Must be able to transfer pieces of furniture, personal items between the

residence and the trailer. Requires vertically / horizontally transferring pieces of

furniture, personal items weighing up to (30 lbs.) from (1”) to (36”), up to (15 /

hr.), a distance of up to (100 feet) without mechanical assistance.

Must be able to use dolly to load / unload bigger furniture. Must horizontally

transfer dolly requiring a force up to (53 lbs.), up to (12 / hr.), a distance of (100

feet).

Must be able to access all floors / basement of the house (7” step). Requires

climbing stairs up to (240 steps / hr.) in (7” increments).

Must be able to perform various tasks, including packing and loading / unloading.

Requires tolerance of standing posture up to (1 hr.) continuously, for a total of up
