About Us
Cardinal Glass Industries was established in 1962 as a fabricator of sealed insulating glass units in St. Louis Park, MN. Throughout the years, the company has grown and consists of a Mineral facility, Float Glass facilities, Tempered Glass facilities, Coated Glass facilities, Insulating Glass facilities, and Laminated Glass facilities. These facilities are located throughout the United States.
Cardinal's premier product is the Insulating Glass Unit which consists of two or three coated Lo Elites of glass that are assembled into an insulating unit. The oxygen between the lites is replaced with Argon. The units are framed with aluminum or stainless steel and then doubled sealed.
Cardinal is the largest producer of insulating glass units in the world!
Job Objectives: In an Insulating Glass (IG) manufacturing facility, the primary responsibilities are to identify, organize, load and unload glass and non-glass components into designated areas.
Responsibilities extend from receiving to shipping to setting the lines up with racks. This includes loading trucks in accordance with customer driven requirements and unloading empty rack trucks and putting the empty racks into designated areas.
This associate needs to demonstrate a solid work ethic through diligent effort, good decision making, functioning as a good team member, following procedures, and improving the process in their department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use equipment: includes daily checks of the forklift and maintaining a forklift certification.
  • Receive product: includes physically receiving glass and non-glass components into the building, includes entering it into E1 as outlined in the work instruction and putting the product into the proper location.
  • Set the lines up: includes bringing glass and non-glass components and empty racks to the line as needed.
  • Follow procedures, including standard work procedures, quality specifications, "green, yellow, red" procedures, QC Methods and relevant work instructions, safety procedures, and 5S Workcenter guidelines for maintaining orderliness, cleanliness, and supplies inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular and reliable in person attendance.
  • Ability to use good judgment
  • Ability to work as a team
