Job description

Our client, a global manufacturer of advanced equipment for automated manufacturing and assembly, is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to lead Service, Applications, Customer Support, and technical operations Northeast of Atlanta, GA.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and automation expertise with the ability to drive accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily technical operations across Service, Applications, Customer Support, and technical testing
  • Provide hands-on support with troubleshooting, installations, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and customer escalations
  • Improve service response times, team productivity, workflows, and operational efficiency
  • Establish and track KPIs, priorities, processes, and technical standards
  • Lead onboarding, technical training, and team development
  • Oversee repair/RGA processes, workplace safety, and 5S
  • Coordinate technical projects and operational improvements with international teams
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, suppliers, and internal teams

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Proven hands-on technical leadership experience within automation, machinery, field service, or industrial operations
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • PLC and system integration experience; Siemens and EtherCAT experience preferred
  • Field service, equipment installation, and commissioning experience
  • Leadership experience, ideally 3+ years in field service, technical service, or technical operations
  • Experience driving KPIs, continuous improvement, productivity, and 5S
  • Strong customer-facing and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Dispensing technology experience is a plus
  • German or Spanish language skills and/or experience working with international teams is a plus
  • Salesforce, Asana, Microsoft Business Central, and CAD/SolidWorks experience is a plus
