Job description

Overview

PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage complex drilling construction projects across the region. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of project execution—from planning and budgeting through construction, closeout, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical knowledge, and proven experience managing utility-scale projects safely, on time, and within budget. Ability to provide guidance and oversee multiple project managers or assistant project managers.


Responsibilities

This position is based in CKansas City Metro Area, with occasional travel to project sites as required.

  • Coordinate overall project lifecycles for drilling/foundation projects. Some projects may involve substation construction, transmission, and distribution projects.
  • Manage complex field logistics, including equipment mobilization, material procurement, subcontractor activities, and multi-task prioritization.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize baseline project schedules, milestones, and structural closeout processes. 
  • Oversee corporate and industry accounting tracking, including labor, equipment, and material costs, to ensure rigorous budgetary control.
  • Apply advanced financial math, record-keeping, and cost forecasting models to optimize project spending and leadership reports.
  • Utilize specialized heavy construction financial software including JD Edwards, Hubble, EcoSys, Incorta, and HCSS HeavyJob.
  • Author, review, and manage formal project documentation including RFIs, change orders, design submittals, and technical daily reports.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret complex engineering specs, contracts, financial reports, blueprints, and legal agreements.
  • Maintain advanced proficiency in project controls software platforms, including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio).
  • Conduct routine job site inspection visits to verify adherence to design specifications, quality baselines, and execution standards.
  • Collaborate directly with the Safety Department to enforce OSHA compliance and uphold PAR Electric's strict zero-injury site culture.
  • Maintain complete mobility, including a valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR), to travel directly to active field project locations.
  • Facilitate proactive oral, written, and multimedia presentation communications across field crews, engineering bodies, and clients.
  • Deploy supervisory and motivational leadership skills to align teams, run project meetings, and resolve on-site operational bottlenecks.

Required

 

  • Knowledge of design, estimating, construction, finance, and management.
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and activities.
  • Accounting (math and record-keeping) to include the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations as needed to examine construction operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio).
  • Familiar with Primavera P6, JD Edwards, Hubble, EcoSys, Incorta, and Bid 2 Win technology platforms.
  • Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening) and ability to lead meetings.
  • Effective motivational and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
  • Ability to travel and work on project locations is essential.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the metro area.

Education and Experience

 

  • Four-year construction science, construction management, construction engineering, engineering, or similar related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Minimum of ten years project or construction management or project controls experience in similar construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of project management, project controls, contract management, budgeting, estimating, schedules, negotiations, construction management (technology, equipment, methods), and safety required.
  • PMP certification required within 60 days of hire.
