Job description

PURPOSE

Responsible for overseeing various projects of highly complex nature within assigned area. Assembles a project team, strategically delegates responsibilities, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for projects within the assigned area
  • Provides project management oversight and direction to ensure overall success of large, highly complex, multi-platform initiatives by developing appropriate project implementation plans that may include scope, goals, scheduling and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management.
  • Estimates resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and determines the need for additional staff and/or consultants and makes appropriate request for additional personnel.
  • Plans, schedules and tracks project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentation.
  • Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results and troubleshoots problem areas.
  • Collaborates to develop, and appropriately executes, a communication strategy, including stakeholder analysis, ongoing communications and adoption plans.
  • Negotiates with department managers, when necessary, regarding the support of required personnel within the company to ensure project continuity through completion.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve productivity, cost containment and improve project performance.
  • Manages relationships across organization and divisions to develop a thorough understanding of core business functions and align project with overall business objectives.
  • Conducts quality assurance audits in support of project quality plan, including project post-mortem assessments and suggest improvements in process or procedure.
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees project team to ensure projects are done safely and efficiently.Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelorโ€™s degree in related field

Four (4) years of experience in project management

Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle with experience in Java, J2EE, HTML, JSP, XML, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Windows AIX, Enterprise technologies, Web applications, portals and collaboration sites
