Construction Safety Manager / Safety Coordinator
Location: Reno, NV
About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety professional to support multiple active construction projects within a local market. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating a strong safety culture, enjoys working directly with field teams, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.

The successful candidate will partner closely with project leadership and craft professionals to promote safe work practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and continuously improve safety performance across multiple jobsites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support safety initiatives across multiple active construction projects.
  • Travel between jobsites to conduct safety observations, inspections, and field coaching.
  • Partner with foremen, superintendents, project managers, and field employees to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and documentation.
  • Deliver safety orientations, training sessions, and equipment certifications for field personnel.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Promote a proactive, safety-first culture through coaching, communication, and leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted safety resource for project teams and field operations.
QualificationsRequired
  • Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience, preferably supporting commercial construction or specialty trade contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
  • Experience conducting jobsite inspections, safety observations, incident investigations, and safety training.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively coach employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to identify hazards, recommend practical solutions, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the local market to support multiple construction projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn safety management software.
Preferred
  • CHST, ASP, or CSP certification, or actively working toward certification.
  • OSHA 30 and OSHA 500/510 certifications, or the ability to obtain them.
  • Experience training and certifying employees on construction equipment and safety procedures.
  • Experience supporting large commercial construction projects or specialty contractors.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.
