About the Role

Under the direction of the Area Specialty Leasing Manager, the Specialty Leasing Manager is responsible for delivering the Specialty Leasing budget in their assigned center(s) through the negotiation and execution of short-term cart, kiosk, and short-term store leases. This position requires a strong understanding of sales, demographics, retail trends, and merchandising in order to identify and negotiate leases that are sustainable and compliment the long-term leasing strategy. In all efforts, the Specialty Leasing Manager will embrace and demonstrate Macerich Core Values and partner with the property team to increase the bottom-line profitability of the shopping center.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with the Area Manager to develop and implement sales, merchandising, and rate strategies for assigned center(s).

  • Negotiate and execute Specialty Leasing agreements to meet or exceed annual budget goals.

  • Conduct market research and outreach (including cold-calling, internet research, and social media engagement) to identify and secure new retail concepts.

  • Monitor lease expirations and renewals to mitigate risk and maximize revenue.

  • Partner with senior management to provide input for annual budget planning.

  • Prepare and maintain monthly forecasts for specialty leasing and kiosk performance.

  • Develop a deep understanding of local market trends and center demographics to support leasing efforts and conduct center tours.

  • Attend leasing and asset management meetings as required.

  • Maintain clear communication with internal leasing and property management teams regarding leasing activity and strategy.

  • Oversee the execution and presentation of the Specialty Leasing program, ensuring proper display, placement, and tenant satisfaction.

  • Support administrative tasks related to the program, including insurance documentation, lease execution, and operational compliance.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Bring to Macerich

  • 3โ€“5 years of experience in retail sales, shopping center leasing, or specialty leasing.

  • Demonstrated success in retail leasing, business development, or a related field.

  • Strong negotiation, sales, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective strategic plans.

  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Awareness of current trends in the retail and food & beverage industries.

The compensation for this position is determined based on several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the specific requirements of the role. Final salary offers will be discussed during the interview process and will reflect the candidate's skills and the company's compensation structure.


The range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 plus 50% Bonus Potential
