Job Summary

University Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager for our Anaheim, CA location. Backed by the strength and stability that comes with almost a century of customer care and ownership, UMEC adheres to the highest safety standards for its employees and clients. UMEC offers industry-leading building information modeling (BIM) capabilities, design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations. This position will lead mechanical construction projects safely on time and within budget for various markets including Healthcare, Life Science, Commercial, Industrial and a wide range of other markets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Project Manager has the following duties which include safety of UMEC field personnel assigned to the projects, field labor productivity, quality assurance and coordination, project financial outcome, projections and reporting, material and equipment procurement, change order management, owner/client relations, project cash flow, and personnel management. Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, executed plans, and programs. Other duties may be assigned. Managers are responsible for directing and overseeing the work activities of their direct reports and to be available during the hours that any direct reports are working.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must have 5-7 years construction work-related experience and/or bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Able to effectively operate the following computer software programs: Microsoft (Excel, Works, Project, Access, and Powerpoint), Bluebeam Revu PDF editing, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting Software), and Quotesoft Estimating Software.
