AT&T is hiring to support a US Government Program that provides IT Services to US Strategic Command located in Omaha Nebraska.

The Network Architect is responsible for building and maintaining network Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) models and for designing, implementing, and assisting in the sustainment of USSTRATCOM's secure network environment. This role provides technical leadership in the evaluation, modernization, and architectural evolution of network technologies that enhance performance, reliability, and security across the enterprise.

The Network Architect maintains current knowledge of emerging networking features, capabilities, and technology trends relevant to USSTRATCOM and provides recurring briefings to management, at least annually and more frequently as needed, on new and evolving networking technologies. This role is also responsible for leading or supporting monthly technical status meetings and providing architectural guidance for approved technical refresh efforts, including design and implementation of new network technologies.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of enterprise network architecture expertise, practical systems engineering skills, and hands-on experience with digital engineering and model-based approaches, particularly in support of secure and complex DoD environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain network UAF models in support of enterprise architecture and network modernization efforts.
  • Design, build, and assist in maintaining USSTRATCOM's secure network environment.
  • Evaluate new and emerging network technologies to improve network performance, reliability, and security.
  • Develop architectural approaches and technical designs for approved network technology refresh initiatives.
  • Lead or support the implementation of new network technologies following technical refresh approval.
  • Maintain awareness of new networking features, products, and capabilities relevant to mission and enterprise needs.
  • Brief USSTRATCOM management on new networking technologies annually, or more frequently as required.
  • Lead or contribute to monthly technical status meetings and communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support architecture development, engineering analysis, and technical planning activities across the network domain.
  • Ensure network designs align with enterprise architecture objectives, mission requirements, and security expectations.

Required Clearance:

TS/SCI (#tsci)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or other relevant STEM discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in network architecture, network engineering, or enterprise infrastructure design.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure enterprise network environments.
  • Experience evaluating and integrating new network technologies to improve performance, reliability, and security.
  • Experience developing architectural designs, technical solutions, and implementation plans for network modernization or refresh efforts.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including through formal briefings and status meetings.
  • Experience supporting technical reviews, status reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Strong understanding of secure network design principles, enterprise networking concepts, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • ITIL 4 certification required within 9 months of hire.
  • DoD 8140-compliant certification required within 6 months of hire. This position is expected to align to the Enterprise Architect role under DoD 8140. Intermediate or Advanced level certifications are preferred. Qualifying certifications may include:

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using digital engineering methods in architecture or network design efforts.
  • Experience with SysML, UAF, or related modeling languages/frameworks.
  • Experience building or maintaining executable or analytical models in support of systems, architecture, or operational processes.
  • OCSMP, INCOSE, or related systems engineering/modeling training or certifications.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and their application to network environments.
  • Experience supporting DoD, USSTRATCOM, or other highly secure federal environments.
  • Experience briefing leadership on emerging technologies, architecture strategy, and modernization recommendations.
  • Experience leading technical refresh or modernization initiatives from evaluation through design and implementation.

Our Network Architect's earn between $71,600 - $145,000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
