People in architectural jobs use creativity, technical knowledge, and communication skills to bring concepts to life from initial design to final construction. They may work independently, in firms, or collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients. The work often involves using software like AutoCAD or Revit and staying updated on building codes and sustainability standards.

What are types of architectural jobs?

Architectural jobs include roles such as licensed architects who design buildings, architectural technologists who focus on technical details, project managers overseeing construction projects, and interior architects specializing in interior spaces. Architectural DesignerCharlotte, NC / In-Office / Full time

Scope Architectural Consulting is a growing architectural firm specializing in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, corporate, commercial, and mission-critical facilities throughout the United States. We help businesses grow by delivering thoughtful, practical design solutions that create lasting value. At Scope, accountability, technical excellence, and client service drive everything we do.
Why Join Scope?
At Scope, you'll work on projects that actually get built, and you'll stay with them from early concept through construction instead of getting handed one phase and passed along. You'll work directly with our architects, your drawings will go out to clients and consultants with your name on them, and you'll take on real responsibility from the start.
What You'll Do
  • Develop architectural concepts into coordinated, buildable designs.
  • Produce high-quality Revit construction documents.
  • Create site plans, floor plans, and building layouts.
  • Develop 3D models and client presentation graphics.
  • Coordinate with structural, MEP, and civil consultants.
  • Participate in client meetings and design presentations.
  • Support permitting submissions and agency reviews.
  • Improve internal standards, workflows, and documentation quality.
  • Help solve technical challenges throughout design and construction documentation.

What We’re Looking For
  • 1-3 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Strong Revit proficiency.
  • Experience with SketchUp.
  • Experience with Enscape and/or Lumion.
  • Experience producing construction documents.
  • Understanding of building systems and construction detailing.
  • Experience coordinating consultant drawings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture
  • Experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary project environment.

Preferred Project Experience
We’re seeking designers with experience on projects similar to the work we do. Ideal candidates have worked on one or more of the following:
  • Industrial Facilities
  • Manufacturing Facilities
  • Warehouses & Distribution Centers
  • Commercial Buildings
  • Corporate Office Buildings
  • Mission-Critical Facilities

What Success Looks Like
Success at Scope means taking ownership, communicating proactively, and consistently delivering high-quality work.
Our most successful designers produce coordinated, accurate construction documents, solve problems with confidence, meet project commitments, and earn the trust of clients and teammates through professionalism, reliability, and technical excellence.
Our Office
Our Charlotte office is designed to support collaboration, creativity, and focused work. Located beside a private lake with walking trails and outdoor gathering spaces, it offers a unique setting to recharge throughout the day. Employees also enjoy access to an on-site fitness facility with locker rooms and showers.
This is a full-time, in-office position. We believe the best ideas come from working together, solving problems in real time, and learning from one another every day.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Professional development and licensure support
  • Flexible scheduling and generous paid time off
  • Long-term disability insurance
