Job description

Senior Designer (Bush Interiors, Inc. dba Jamie Bush + Co) (Los Angeles, CA): Lead the development of interior architecture design concepts for complex projects by performing advanced spatial planning, hand-sketching, precedent research, and 3D modeling in Rhino, preparing multiple design options for internal evaluation and client review; Develop interior design concepts through hand-sketching, spatial planning, precedent research, and 3D modeling, preparing multiple design options for internal review and client presentation; Coordinate technical aspects of interior design with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility requirements, and project budget parameters; Produce and quality-review detailed construction documentation—including interior plans, elevations, sections, custom millwork details, material specifications, and finish schedules—using AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and Bluebeam Revu to be used for contractor bidding and construction; Review and markup architect’s drawings to ensure the interior design intent is accurately reflected into the design document and built environment; Prepare visually clear and technically informative design presentations for clients, by integrating CAD drawings, 3D models, and renderings into cohesive client-facing packages using InDesign and related visualization tools; Manage procurement processes by gathering vendor quotes, preparing proposal materials, and coordinating with clients and internal teams to maintain accurate project information; Provide timely design refinements during construction to address unforeseen site conditions while preserving design intent and ensuring adherence to project timeline and budget; Support the Principal, Project Manager, and team in the implementation and management of interior design projects; Create project budgets, developing project scope outlines and analysis, project feasibility, staffing, logistics scheduling, and budget requirements; Source furniture, fabrics, fixtures, and finishes from multiple vendors in line with client needs and the Principal’s design vision; Document and organize sourced furniture, fabrics, fixtures, and finishes in Fohlio and Design Manager; Manage communication with Principal, Project Manager, design team staff, and vendors; and Represent the Firm at meetings with clients, architects, contractors and vendors, and organize and supervise high-priority installations. In order to complete the above-mentioned tasks, the following skills and experience are required: Experience managing projects with specified budgets and timelines; Experience with AutoCAD or ArchiCAD for technical documentation; Experience using Design Manager, Fohlio, or a similar, equivalent interior design platform; Experience with 3D modeling software such as Rhino, Sketchup, and ArchiCAD; Experience with 3D rendering software Twinmotion, Enscape, and V-Ray; Experience with Bluebeam Revu for drawing review, markups, and coordination; Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for presentation and graphic documentation; Experience interpreting architectural plans, sections, and construction details; Experience coordinating with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting); and Experience with construction phases and responding to site conditions. Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture, Architectural Design, Interior Design or a related field, and at least two years of experience as an Architectural/Interior Designer or related occupation. In the alternative, a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in the above-mentioned field and occupation. Hybrid option to work from home.
