A rapidly growing law firm is seeking a Healthcare Reimbursement & PIP Arbitration Attorney to join its expanding litigation and arbitration practice. The firm focuses on complex healthcare reimbursement disputes, including matters arising under the No Surprises Act (NSA), and is recognized for its strategic advocacy, collaborative culture, and commitment to delivering exceptional client outcomes.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with New Jersey PIP arbitration experience, particularly strong experience applying the New Jersey PIP Fee Schedule to medical reimbursement claims is essential. The ability to accurately evaluate reimbursement issues and determine appropriate fee schedule calculations is a key component of this role and serves as the foundation for handling more complex healthcare reimbursement matters.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
NJ bar, active and in good standing (required); NY bar (preferred)
2+ years of NJ PIP arbitration experience
Strong working knowledge of the NJ PIP Fee Schedule
Experience handling arbitration hearings and settlement negotiations
Key Responsibilities
New Jersey PIP / No-Fault Arbitration
Manage a full caseload from claim initiation through final arbitration and resolution.
Draft, review, and file arbitration submissions and appeals.
Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and insurance carriers.
Represent clients at remote arbitration hearings.
Partner with paralegals to ensure timely filings, case management, and administrative support.
New Jersey Workers' Compensation (Medical Provider Claims)
Prepare and file medical provider claims through the New Jersey eCourts Workers' Compensation Portal.
Represent clients during virtual workers' compensation hearings.
Review opposing party submissions and evaluate the merits of claims.
Develop settlement strategies and negotiate claim resolutions.
Work closely with paralegals to support appeals and ongoing case management.
New Jersey Commercial Healthcare Reimbursement Arbitrations (No Surprises Act / IDR)
Analyze healthcare reimbursement disputes and apply the New Jersey PIP Fee Schedule to evaluate claims.
Prepare and submit arbitration briefs and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with paralegal staff to manage filings, appeals, and case deadlines.
New York Commercial Healthcare Reimbursement Arbitrations (No Surprises Act / IDR)
Draft arbitration briefs and supporting legal submissions.
Compile and organize Usual, Customary, and Reasonable (UCR) reimbursement evidence.
Prepare fee schedule comparison analyses to support reimbursement positions.
Communicate with clients to obtain information and documentation necessary for arbitration.
Collaborate with paralegals to ensure timely filings, appeals, and efficient case progression.
Schedule: Contingency work, equivalent to 1800 hours per year.
