Seton Hall University seeks applicants for an adjunct professor position in Arabic. The position is in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures within the College of Arts and Sciences. Candidates should have a Master's degree or higher and experience teaching Arabic. Teaching loads are one to two courses per semester at the elementary, intermediate, or advanced levels.
Seton Hall University is located in South Orange, New Jersey, 14 miles from New York City. It is the oldest Catholic diocesan institution of higher education in the United States and is home to about 6,300 undergraduate and 4,700 graduate students. Salary: $3,600 for Master's/$3,900 for PhD per course taught, depending on credentials

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide quality instruction and evaluation of students in various levels of Arabic courses.
Create and administer assignments and tests, following Department guidelines.
Maintain accurate student records in Canvas and follow all deadlines for timely submission of grades.
Attend any meetings pertinent to the instructor.
Participate in Department events as needed.
Specific duties depend on the course. Most courses meet twice a week with one to two office hours. Adjuncts also have the opportunity to provide a few paid hours of tutoring each week.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree or higher
Fluency in Arabic
Experience teaching Arabic
Legal status to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications:

Degree in Arabic preferred, but not required
Ability to incorporate technology into instruction and provide a well-rounded, interactive learning experience for students

Salary Range:

Minimum pay is $1200 per credit for those without a terminal degree and $1300 per credit for those with a terminal degree

Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt
