Job description

Glass Court Swim & Fitness is hiring a Full-Time Aquatics Director to lead a high-visibility aquatics department with both an indoor and outdoor pool (each 6 lanes, 20 yards). This is a leadership role responsible for pool safety, water quality, staffing, scheduling, and aquatics program growth (swim lessons, open swim, lap swim, clinics, rentals, and seasonal outdoor programming).
Responsibilities
  • Lead daily pool operations for indoor and outdoor pools (6-lane, 20-yard each)
  • Maintain water quality: testing, chemical handling, documentation, and corrective action
  • Ensure safety and compliance with health department and club standards; manage incident reporting
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise swim instructors and lifeguards (if applicable)
  • Build and manage aquatics schedules (lessons, lap swim, open swim, clinics, rentals, seasonal programming)
  • Improve lesson performance: fill rate, retention, conversions (trial โ†’ program โ†’ membership)
  • Communicate professionally with parents/members; resolve issues and service recovery
  • Coordinate maintenance and vendors; drive preventive maintenance and minimize downtime
  • Track KPIs and reporting (Jonas experience preferred): utilization, revenue/hour, payroll vs revenue, incidents, compliance
Qualifications
Required
  • 3+ years experience leading aquatics operations in a club, YMCA, swim school, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, and safety procedures
  • Proven leadership: hiring, training, scheduling, coaching staff
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable with scheduling/reporting software (Jonas a plus)
Preferred
  • WSI (or equivalent) / swim instruction certification
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification (instructor a plus)
  • Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) or lifeguard management experience (if applicable)
