New Albany Country Club is currently accepting applications for year-round Assistant Aquatic Supervisor.
This is a full-time, year-round, hourly position. The pay range is $18.00 - $20.00/hour, plus commission for swim lessons.
The
Assistant Aquatic Supervisor supports the Aquatic Supervisor in overseeing the daily operations of the aquatics department and aquatic programming. This role plays a key part in staff leadership, safety oversight, scheduling, training, and member experience-helping ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-run pool environment for members and guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Aquatic Supervisor in organizing and supervising daily aquatics operations
- Help lead, train, orient, and provide feedback to lifeguard staff to ensure a safe, friendly, and fun environment
- Assist with lifeguard training, pool safety education, and rescue techniques
- Respond professionally and promptly to member questions regarding aquatic programs, services, and policies
- Assist in the execution of swim meets, club events, and pool parties
- Help market and promote aquatic programs, including swim lessons, to support program growth and revenue
- Conduct daily inspections to ensure pool safety, cleanliness, and compliance
- Monitor pool equipment functionality and communicate maintenance or purchasing needs
- Assist with staff scheduling and payroll forecasting to minimize overtime
- Report any safety concerns, inappropriate behavior, or misuse of club facilities immediately
- Teach swim lessons as needed
- Serve as Manager on Duty approximately 2-3 shifts per week
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Certifications & Qualifications
- Current Lifeguard Certification
- Current Lifeguard Instructor Certification
- Current CPR, AED, and American Red Cross First Aid Certification
- Minimum 2 years of lifeguard experience
- Swim Team coaching experience is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Work environment includes heat, humidity, wet and slippery surfaces
- Ability to work in a busy, noisy pool setting
- Tolerance of chlorine exposure
- Ability to project voice clearly and give directions
- Continuous standing and walking
- Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, and repetitive motion
