Job description

We're looking for a detail-oriented AQL Technician to join our Quality Control / FSQA team. In this role, you'll play a key part in making sure every product we ship meets the highest standards for safety, quality, and compliance — protecting our customers and our brand.

As an AQL Technician, you'll perform Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) inspections on finished goods, packaging, and labels to confirm products meet company, customer, regulatory, and food safety requirements. You'll be the eyes on the line — catching defects, documenting findings, and flagging trends before they become bigger problems. You'll report to the Quality Control Supervisor or FSQA Supervisor and work closely with Production and Quality teams.

What You'll Own & Impact

  • Perform AQL inspections following established procedures, sampling plans, and inspection frequencies
  • Inspect finished goods for appearance, seal integrity, label accuracy, coding, packaging condition, count, weight, and foreign material concerns
  • Classify defects as critical, major, or minor per AQL standards and company procedure
  • Accurately document inspection results in required forms, systems, or logs
  • Communicate inspection failures, trends, and abnormal findings to Quality, Production, FSQA, and Management
  • Place non-conforming product on hold and support hold documentation, segregation, and disposition
  • Support product rework, sorting, reinspection, and verification activities
  • Assist with line checks, finished product inspections, retention sample reviews, and packaging verification
  • Maintain inspection tools, scales, rulers, gauges, and work areas in clean, organized conditions
  • Follow GMPs, food safety requirements, and safety rules at all times
  • Participate in investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement projects as assigned

Your work will help keep the facility inspection‑ready every day, protect our consumers, and enable reliable, efficient production that supports Archer’s growth.

What Sets You Apart

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures, specifications, and inspection standards
  • Effective English written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and consistent in documenting results
  • Sharp eye for identifying visual product and packaging defects
  • High integrity and strong work ethics
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or extended hours as needed
  • Ability to work independently and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Basic computer skills (email, data entry systems)

Why Join Archer Meat Snacks?

Impact: You are not “just” cleaning; you are a key line of defense for food safety, regulatory compliance, and brand reputation in a growing national company.
Visibility: In this role, you will be highly visible to FSQA, Operations, and plant leadership, with clear ownership over your shift’s sanitation performance, documentation, and readiness for audits.
Ownership: You will have a voice in how we improve processes and the opportunity to showcase your results through metrics, inspections, and continuous improvement projects.
Culture: Fast-moving, collaborative, and results-oriented environment
Benefits: Competitive compensation, PTO, and 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
