Bridgerland Technical College is seeking a Part-Time Plumbing Apprenticeship Instructor to join our team in Logan, Utah. This onsite position offers a unique opportunity to share your industry expertise, mentor apprentices, and make a lasting impact on the future of the plumbing profession.

What You'll Do
As a Part-Time Plumbing Apprenticeship Instructor, you'll provide technical instruction and support apprentices as they progress through their training and prepare for long-term career success.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering classroom instruction aligned with apprenticeship standards and industry requirements.
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and productive learning environment.
  • Administering, evaluating, and grading assignments, exams, and student assessments.
  • Tracking student attendance, progress, and membership hours.
  • Supporting student retention and successful program completion.
  • Assisting apprentices with career development, job placement opportunities, and industry certifications.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local employers and industry partners.
  • Gathering industry feedback to ensure curriculum remains relevant and current.
  • Recommending curriculum updates based on employer advisory committee input and industry trends.
  • Maintaining compliance with college policies, accreditation requirements, and apprenticeship standards.
  • Collaborating with faculty, staff, and industry stakeholders to promote program excellence.

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a skilled plumbing professional with a passion for mentoring others and helping apprentices achieve their goals.
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of a formal Plumbing Apprenticeship Program.
  • Current Utah Journeyman Plumbing License.
  • Minimum of six years of related industry experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email communication, and Windows-based computer systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with apprenticeship programs.
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage adult learners.
  • Knowledge of current plumbing codes, regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
