Johnson Clarke Inc, a Palm Beach Tan franchise with 20 locations, is looking for an Apprentice Equipment Manager in the area surrounding St. Louis, MO.
Overview
Performs general maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep duties for all Palm Beach Tan retail locations in the greater St. Louis Area.  Reports directly to the Head Maintenance and Facilities Tech.  Travels to all St Louis and greater area retail locations to complete required work. This position is an opportunity of a lifetime. You will work on all types of equipment at our salons. Washers, dryers, tanning beds, spray booths and so much more. All with ongoing training and support to help you succeed. These are skills you will utilize for the rest of your life, not just at work but at home too. You won't just learn how to repair the equipment, but also how to troubleshoot issues and understand why these issues arise.  We provide the tools, training, and support, you provide the hard work and the desire to learn. This is a fast-paced position with high expectations. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates great attention to detail and pride in their work. Variable hours up to full-time position depending upon abilities and growth potential.Responsibilities
  • Receives oral or written orders from Head Maintenance and Facilities Tech
  • Performs work according to standard procedure and by each facility's operational schedule.
  • Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
  • Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.
  • Performs touch-up and finish painting.
  • Replaces light bulbs.
  • Sets up and tears down equipment.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
  • Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor.
  • Participates in general cleaning, painting, and repair work.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds and walks.
  • Assists in shipping and receiving of parts and supplies.
  • Provides assistance to staff, customers, and other employees as necessary.
  • Tanning equipment lamp changes.
  • Work on all tanning equipment, on-the-job training provided.
Qualifications
  • The skills and knowledge required would generally be obtained with previous experience in building cleaning and maintenance work.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to relate to staff and public in a courteous manner.
  • Ability to acquire job skills with three months of on-the-job training.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds.  Be able to assist with lifting heavier items as well.
  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain.
  • Valid drivers license.
This position does not have a specific office location. You will start your day from home or the location in Westport Plaza and travel to locations as needed in the above mentioned area.
