Electrician/Apprentice Electrician 3rd or 4th Year

You can contribute to the future of the agriculture industry by becoming an Electrician. As an Electrician you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical equipment and automation within the Thunder Bay Terminal in a safe and timely manner.

Position Details:

  • Hourly rate is $44.44 for Red Seal Electrician; 4th year Electrician is 43.41/hr and 3rd year Electrician - 42.24/hr

  • The Electrician is on a regular Monday to Friday work schedule

What you'll do:

  • Provides shift response to plant trouble calls, completes required repairs and returns equipment to Operations in an expeditious manner.

  • Performs troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of facility electrical equipment, programmable logic control systems, instrumentation and related equipment according to establishedguidelines.

  • Performs installation and repair of distribution panels, motor control centers, protective devices, fixtures, instrumentation and related equipment in accordance with Canadian Electrical Code.

  • Provides troubleshooting and basic PLC programming in ladder logic and function block.

  • Communicates clearly and effectively with supervisors and peer group to provide the information required to manage and operate the Terminal.

  • Completes accurate, timely and legible administrative documents.

  • Participates in the Safety Program.

What you bring to our team:

  • Two years of experience in an industrial setting with demonstrated high quality work.

  • Journeyperson Industrial Electrician certificate is an asset.

  • The ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge of Modbus communications protocols, hardware, media and communications, as well as basic knowledge and familiarity with Ethernet protocols, hardware (media converters, hubs and switches) and wiring systems.

  • Familiarity with Modicon Unity programming software is an asset.
