Job description

We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on Generac generators. Must have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with small engine troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities: Inspecting equipment for damage, performing oil changes, replacing spark plugs, adjusting carburetor settings, repairing faulty components, providing customer service regarding repair estimates and completion times. Qualifications: Proven experience as a small engine mechanic, ability to use specialized tools, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a valid driver's license.

  • Equipment types: Generac home stand-by generators, sizes from 8kw – 22kw (potential to do larger sizes)
  • Essential duties:  Diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, replacing parts, and customer interaction. 
  • Required skills: Highlight necessary mechanical skills, knowledge of small engine components, and ability to use specialized tools. 
  • Experience level: Experienced mechanics are preferred. Willing to train entry level, with the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on small engines, including oil changes, spark plug replacements, and air filter replacements
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with small engines
  • Perform necessary repairs, including fixing or replacing engine parts and components
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to perform repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Keep accurate records of work completed and parts used
  • Communicate with customers about repairs needed and provide estimates for work

Requirements:
