Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines on equipment including lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, blowers, generators, pressure washers, and more
  • Perform tune-ups, carburetor rebuilds, belt/blade replacements, and seasonal service
  • Identify correct replacement parts for repair
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Document work performed accurately on work orders
  • Assist with customer drop-off and pick-up as needed

Requirements

  • Dependability is non-negotiable — consistent attendance and punctuality are expected without exception
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with small engine repair (professional or verifiable personal)
  • Proficiency with 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine diagnosis and repair
  • Ability to use standard and specialized mechanic's tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload without hand-holding

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with brands such as Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Husqvarna, STIHL, Echo, Kohler, or Kawasaki
  • Small engine certification (e.g., STIHL, Briggs & Stratton, or similar OEM training)
  • Familiarity with electronic ignition systems and fuel injection diagnostics

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate, $17 to $20, based on experience
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM — no weekends!
  • Performance bonuses based on productivity and quality
  • Employee discounts on parts and equipment
  • Straightforward, no-drama work environment
