Job description

Apprentices spend much of their day working under the guidance of a journeyman worker who guides on-the-job-learning in the critical manufacturing work processes and related tasks. In addition, apprentices participate in formal education and assessments that help them to attain valuable advanced manufacturing certification, which they can use to advance both their education and career. Apprentices participate in regular assessments that provide them with feedback on their learning and on-the-job performance. Apprentices who embrace this feedback will experience significant learning and personal development allowing them to advance their career.
  • Apprentices earn a living wage while learning new skills and credentials that will help them succeed in a high-demand career.
  • Apprentices learn the core skills required in advanced manufacturing. This enables them to make a valuable contribution at work, while also preparing them for career advancement opportunities in the manufacturing industry.
  • Apprenticeships build strong basic and academic skills that they can use to continue their education and pursue a degree.

In order to obtain the completion credential, apprentices must successfully complete courses in industrial math, industrial communications, manufacturing technology systems and processes, industrial blueprint reading, and OSHA 10.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Must be able to use hand tools (i.e torque wrench, drills and inspection tools).
  • Ability to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, and square.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and Microsoft Office programs.
  • This facility requires special access and therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen at least 18 years of age.

Desired Skills:
  • Production experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent education or certification.
  • Specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks.
