Description
The University of Chicago Department of Statistics invites applications for the position of William H. Kruskal Instructor. We seek recent or expected Ph.D. graduates doing advanced research with a connection to statistical theory, methodology and applications, probability theory, machine learning, or data science. Kruskal Instructor responsibilities include engagement in independent research and teaching up to three quarter-long courses per year in statistics or related fields. The appointment is for a term of up to three years.
The University of Chicago has the highest standards for scholarship and academic quality, is dedicated to fundamental research, and has an inherently inter-disciplinary structure that is very supportive of newly emerging research opportunities.
Qualifications
Required: Completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related field by the time of hire.
Preferred: research interests related to those of faculty in the Department of Statistics https://stat.uchicago.edu/people/#faculty.
