# of Openings:  1 Electronics Technician III (Electronic Security Systems) Purpose: * Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for Electronics Technician III to provide advanced technical support for U.S. Government Electronic Security Systems (ESS) programs. * Located in Norfolk, Virginia. Job Description: * Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test advanced electronic security systems and associated infrastructure. * Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex electronic and electro-mechanical problems within integrated security environments. * Read and interpret: * Complex electrical and electronic schematics * Engineering drawings and change orders * Technical manuals and manufacturer documentation * Government specifications, standards, and installation guidelines Advanced Technical Responsibilities: * Diagnose and resolve complex malfunctions involving integrated electronic security systems. * Perform component-level and module-level troubleshooting. * Analyze signal flow, device communication, and subsystem interaction across integrated platforms. * Repair, configure, calibrate, align, and optimize electronic security equipment and associated hardware. * Install and integrate multi-component security systems and low-voltage infrastructure. * Configure controllers, servers, networked security devices, and field equipment. * Interface electronic security systems with enterprise IT infrastructure and IP-based networks. * Validate system interoperability between security platforms and supporting infrastructure. * Support system modernization efforts, technology refresh initiatives, and system upgrades. * Conduct operational testing, acceptance testing, and system verification activities. Leadership & Oversight: * Serve as lead field technician on assigned projects and installations when required. * Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to junior technicians. * Review completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project standards. * Coordinate with engineers, program managers, subcontractors, and government representatives. * Support inspections, audits, and project closeout activities. Typical Systems Supported: * Electronic Security Systems (ESS) * Access Control Systems (ACS) * Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) * Video Surveillance Systems (CCTV/VSS) * Intercom and Communication Systems * Mass Notification Systems (MNS) * Networked IP-Based Security Systems * Low-Voltage Electrical Infrastructure * Security Management and Monitoring Platforms Qualifications: * Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. * Must have minimum of 4–6 years of relevant experience in electronic security systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or systems integration. * Must have experience troubleshooting integrated electronic security and low-voltage systems. * Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in field and operational environments. * Must have the ability to read and interpret complex schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. * Must be proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and test equipment, including: * Multimeters * Cable testers * Network testers * Must have working knowledge of low-voltage systems, grounding, and electrical safety practices. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. Desired Qualifications: * Formal electronics training from a technical school, military electronics program, or registered apprenticeship preferred. * Experience supporting DoD, DoS, or other federal security programs preferred. * Knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles, network topology, and IP-based security devices preferred. * Familiarity with applicable codes and standards, including NEC. * Experience with electronic security platforms and manufacturers such as: * LenelS2 * Genetec * Software House * Milestone * Bosch * Honeywell * CompTIA Security+ or similar cybersecurity awareness certification preferred. * OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Safety Certification. * CPR and First Aid Certification. * Active U.S. Passport preferred. Security Requirements: * Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (Secret or higher, as required by contract). * Must be able to obtain and maintain credentials required for access to federal facilities and military installations. Travel Requirements: * Travel requirements vary by program and may range from limited domestic travel to extended domestic and international travel assignments. * Candidates must be able to support project-based travel requirements as needed. Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. * Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing. * Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights. * Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions. * Repetitive hand and wrist motion may be required. * Ability to distinguish colors and interpret visual indicators, labels, and wiring identification.
