R&K Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (R&K) is a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with core capabilities in Mission Support, Engineering and Logistics, Cybersecurity and Intelligence, Environmental and Emergency Management, Exercise and Training, and Defense Healthcare in support of our Defense, Intelligence, and Federal Civilian customers.
R&K provides Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) in direct support of various DoD and Air Force (AF) Headquarters (HQ). This effort is to secure program support, professional services, engineering technical services that improve policy making, decision-making, management, administration, program management, or research and development activities for the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD(I&S), Secretary of the AF for Acquisitions (SAF/AQ), HQ AF Intelligence Directorate (A2), and elements within the Air Combat Command (ACC).
The contract provides Air Force enterprise Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) subject matter expertise related to platform, sensor, and communications infrastructure, with focus on the system and AF Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) enterprise architecture, CONOPs, policy, future technologies, STANAG 4575, analysis, facilitation and communication of evolving governance, standards, programmatic, and technical developments affecting the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) and Support to the Enterprise Program Elements.
The R&K Team is seeking a highly qualified full-time Junior Level Systems Engineer - Communications and Infrastructure (Apprentice I)
Title: Communications and Network Engineer - Junior Level (Apprentice I)
Location: Arlington, VA
Duration: Permanent/ Full-Time
Clearance: TS/SCI Clearance Required
Start Date: Upon Approval
Duties: The Successful Candidate shall:
Advise and ensure high quality work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked C2ISR systems across all levels of the mission environment (day to day through scintillation).
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in communications systems, network architecture, and network performance management within C2ISR environments.

  • Network requirements analysis and recommendations
  • Communications and network architecture design
  • Network infrastructure planning and maintenance
  • Network workload and capacity analysis
  • Monitoring and optimizing network performance
  • Diagnosing and resolving network issues across mission environments
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSA): Candidate must have the following qualifications:
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI Clearance Required
  • Education: BA/BS Degree
  • Experience:
    • 4 years in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed
(Or)
  • 8 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the functionally aligned job descriptions.
  • Has the knowledge and ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline they are performing. The work can be done independently or monitored by senior employees to ensure compliance with proper procedures.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with DoD Processing Exploitation and Dissemination (PED) communications or IT highly desired.
  • Headquarters staff experience highly desired.
