Purpose of theposition
Reporting to the Program Director for EOs Workforce Innovation(WI)initiatives, the Program Coordinatorwill help to develop, plan, implement, and coordinate EO's IgniteInternshipsprogram.TheCoordinatoris responsiblefordevelopingpartnershipsthat lead toexpanded learning opportunities and meaningful career opportunitiesfor all students.
Essential functions
- Develop andmaintainrelationships with K-12 schools, postsecondary institutions, and regional employers
- Serve as a primary liaison between education and industry partners
- Identifyworkforce needs and align them with student learning opportunities
- Coordinate advisory groups or sector partnerships (such as healthcare, manufacturing, etc.) as needed
- Design and implement career-connected learning experiences for students, including internships and apprenticeships; job shadowing and workplace tours;andcareer fairs and industry panels
- Track student participation and outcomes related to workforce programs
- Plan andfacilitateeducator externships, industry tours, and professional learning sessions
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to align industry needs with curriculum
- Provide educators with insights on labor market trends and in-demand skills
- Support integration of career pathways into classroom instruction
- Coordinate scheduling, transportation, and communication for events and experiences
- Ensure compliance with safety, liability,schooldistrict, and EOpoliciesand procedures
- Manage program documentation, agreements, and reporting requirements
- Collect and analyze data on program effectiveness and participant outcomes
- Prepare reports for stakeholders, funders, and leadership
- Use feedback from students, educators, and employers to improve programming

Work environment
This position is based in the Abingdon, Virginia office.
Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required tosit and talk or hear. The employeefrequentlyis required touse hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employeeis occasionally required tostand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specificvisionabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position type and expected hours of work
Employeeshould be able to work core hoursof8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional meetings, events, andpossible emergenciesoutside of core hours.
Travel required
The ideal candidate will be available to attend early morning, evening, and/or weekend meetings in person and should be able to travel independently where needed.
Certificates, licenses,registrationsrequired
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance
- Reliable high-speed home internet
Required education and experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or universityin education, business, publicadministrationor a related field
- Two to four yearsexperience inprogram coordination, education,orworkforce development
- Knowledge of local employers and/or experience with local education systems
Preferred experience
- Experience working with K-12 systems and/or industry partners
- Knowledge of career pathways, CTE (Career & Technical Education), or workforce systems
- Familiarity with labor market data and regional economic trends
