We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as aย Cybersecurity Specialist,ย Apprenticeย โ€“ SMEย to work out ofย Offutt AFB, NEย supporting theย United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM/J5)ย 

Job Summary:ย 

Theย Cybersecurity Specialistย willย support mission-critical software modernization, development, and deployment efforts for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Centerย 

Thisย roleย involves advancing mission planning and execution capabilities for strategic deterrence through systems engineering, Agile/DevOps practices, and continuous integration/delivery methodologies. Contractors will be engaged in evaluating and enhancing the survivability, interoperability, and reliability of strategic weapon systems while contributing to planning documents, test and evaluation strategies, and rapid technology fielding efforts. This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical NC3 software and systems that shape national defense strategies and collaborate with diverse DoD and government partners to drive innovation and operational excellence in support of the strategic enterprise.ย 

Essential Duties:ย 

  • Identifyย areas of cyber weakness within programs and develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)ย requiredย in support of information assurance or security necessitiesย 
  • Conduct tests of cybersecurity safeguards and integration of systems IAW established test plans, STIGs, and Cybersecurity Controls. Automate security testing through scripts and macrosย 
  • Ensure that the design of hardware, operating systems, and software applications adequately address security requirements for the Computing Environment (CE) to include testing cybersecurity mitigationsย 
  • Development and production of RMF documentation for Secret, Top Secret, and JWICS networksย 
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and security tests on networks, web-based applications, and computer systems
  • Conduct network and system security audits, evaluate how well the system conforms to a set of established criteria
  • Analyze policies for effectiveness, make suggestions on security policy improvements, and work to enhanceย methodologyย material
  • Document findings, write security reports, and discuss solutions with IT teams and management
  • Perform โ€œblack boxโ€ and โ€œwhite boxโ€ testing and blue and red team war gaming exercises
  • Perform security and technical assessments onย new technologiesย and generate "Best Practices" for implementation ofย new technologies
  • Perform reviews of application designs and source code (mainly Java, JavaScript, and C)
  • Establish and sustain information security assurance processes that satisfy complex system-wide requirements
  • Provide cybersecurity recommendations based on evaluation and review of engineering proposals to ensure compliance with mandated cybersecurity requirements
  • Manage the fact finding, analysis, and development of hypothesis, conclusions, production of final reports and presentationsย 

                            Required Qualifications:ย 

                            • Apprentice:ย 0-3 years ofย directly relatedย experience
                            • Journeyman:ย 3-7ย years ofย directly relatedย experienceย 
                            • Craftsman:ย 7-12ย years ofย directly relatedย experienceย 
                            • SME:ย 12+ย years ofย directly relatedย experience
                            • Extensive experience providing cybersecurity support for SMPESย 

                                    Education/ Certification:ย Education:ย ย 

                                    • Apprentice, Journeyman:ย BA/BS in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed;ย additionalย years ofย directly relatedย experience may be used in lieu of educationย 
                                    • Craftsman-SME:ย Advanced Degree (MA/MS) in the respective technical/professional disciplines being performed,ย additionalย years ofย directly relatedย experience may be used in lieu of educationย
