Job description

Painter-Decorator / Carpenter / Skilled Construction Laborer / Painter-Drywall Taper
In accordance with the standards established by the New York State Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program, Renu Contracting & Restoration is recruiting apprentices for the following trades:
• Painter-Decorator
• Carpenter
• Skilled Construction Laborer
• Painter-Drywall Taper
Work Locations
Projects may be located throughout:
• Nassau & Suffolk Counties (Long Island)
• New York City
• Hudson Valley Region
Program Details
• Approximate program length: 3-4 years / 6,000 hours
• Paid on-the-job training and classroom instruction
• Safety and trade-related training provided
• Progressive wage increases based on performance and advancement
• Successful graduates will be classified as Journeyman-level workers
Starting Pay
• $20.00 per hour for non-prevailing wage/private work
• Prevailing wage projects paid according to applicable wage schedules
Job Duties
Apprentices may assist with:
• Painting, drywall taping, sanding, patching, and finishing
• Carpentry, framing, drywall installation, and material handling
• Demolition, site preparation, and general construction labor
• Safe operation of hand and power tools
• Interior and exterior construction and restoration work
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must:
• Be at least 18 years old
• Applicants under 18 must provide parental/legal guardian consent
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Have reliable transportation
• Be dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
• Work on ladders, scaffolds, and uneven surfaces
• Perform indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Safely use construction tools and equipment
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Selection Process
Selection will be conducted in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity standards established by the New York State Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program and may include:
• Application review
• Verification of qualifications
• Interview and work aptitude evaluation
Employment is contingent upon meeting program requirements, workplace safety standards, and completion of all required employment documentation.
