Job description

Description

This Isn't Your Average Drafting Job

If you've built cabinets, installed them, and you know your way around cabinet design, we want to talk to you.

At TVID Interiors, our Cabinet Designer doesn't just push drawings through a pipeline. You'll be a key player in bringing interior projects to life, working alongside a team that genuinely respects your expertise and expects you to use it. Every project brings something new. Every completed job is something you can point to and say, "I had a hand in that."

Who We Are

Franklin Building Supply is an established, employee-owned lumber and building materials distributor with a hand in every stage of the process, from cabinet production and countertop fabrication to a full design showroom where we help clients bring their spaces to life. We're not just selling materials; we're part of the build from concept to completion.

We're a close-knit, collaborative group of professionals who take our work seriously, value each other's perspectives, and solve problems together rather than passing the buck. Our culture isn't something we put on a poster; it's why people stay.

What You'll Do

You'll be the technical backbone of our project process, translating design concepts into precise drawings, take-offs, and cost estimates that set up our sales, design, and production teams for success. Day to day, that looks like:

  • Building accurate cabinet material take-offs from architectural drawings
  • Creating 2D and 3D renderings in Cabinet Vision to communicate designs to builders and contractors
  • Generating detailed estimates for materials, labor, and overall project costs
  • Collaborating with Account Coordinators, Sales, and Design teams to keep projects aligned
  • Reviewing and revising drawings as designs evolve

No two projects are identical. That's by design. The best part of all? You don't talk to customers directly!

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Hands-on experience building, designing, or installing cabinets (or all three!)
  • Strong math skills and comfort with estimating material and labor costs
  • Excellent organizational habits and ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and email
  • Employment Eligibility: Franklin Building Supply participates in E-Verify. All new hires must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be verified through the federal E-Verify system.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in Cabinet Design (Cabinet Vision 11 or later, 2020 Design, Mosaik, or  AutoCad)
  • 3+ years in cabinetry drafting, woodworking design, cabinetry installation, cabinetry construction, or a related field
  • Deep knowledge of cabinet construction methods and material specifications
  • Experience working under tight deadlines without sacrificing accuracy

What We Offer

  • ~$24/hr  DoE
  • Excellent health, vision, and dental insurance - one of the things our team consistently highlights
  • Employee ownership: you're not just working here, you have a stake in it
  • A workplace where your opinion is heard and your problem-solving is valued
  • A stable, established company with a culture people actually want to be part of

Room to Grow

This role has a clear path to the top; the next step is Supervisor of Estimating & Drafting. If you take ownership of your work and want to grow, we'll support that.
