Professionals like computer-aided design (CAD) designers use Cabinet Vision to draft plans for cabinetry or other products, while Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) programmers integrate Cabinet Vision files into the computer programs that control manufacturing processes. These drafting and programming jobs can have different titles such as Cabinet Vision specialists, Cabinet Vision engineer, or millwork drafter. Some Cabinet Vision specialists use the program to make custom cabinetry based on the designs of a client. In each case, your particular duties and responsibilities may vary somewhat depending on the position and your employer, but you should have an expert-level knowledge of drafting and manufacturing processes.

It typically involves a learning curve but is manageable with dedicated effort.

What jobs are visual thinkers good at?

Visual thinkers are well-suited for jobs that require strong spatial awareness, such as design, architecture, drafting, and CAD modeling, including roles like Cabinet Vision specialist. Familiarity with Cabinet Vision software, CNC machinery integration, and relevant certifications like AWI or NKBA are typically required. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication with clients and production teams set top performers apart. These skills ensure precise design execution, efficient workflow, and high client satisfaction in custom cabinetry projects.
