Civil Engineer Intern (EI) - Full Time

Location: Longwood, FL, US 

Civil Engineer Intern, EI:

A full-service multi-disciplined firm is searching for a Certified Engineer Intern to join the team in Longwood, FL. They offer a wonderful, open atmosphere and provide employees with an opportunity for upward growth within the company. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Project Coordination

  • Understanding of general Civil Engineering design principles

  • Construction Document preparation for competitive construction bidding (a Plus)

  • Experience in Site Geometry, Utility Services and/or Main design, Site Grading, Storm Drainage design, Stormwater Management, Stormwater Pollution Prevention design, and/or Local Agency Code Analysis and Implementation in Design (a Plus)

  • Preparation of Project Documentation and Reports (a Plus)


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited College/University

  • 2-4 years of experience

  • EI License Certification

  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads (a Plus)

  • Proficiency in Excel

  • ICPR Experience (a Plus)

  • WaterCad Experience (a Plus)

  • AutoTurn Experience (a Plus)

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform civil site facility analysis and design

  • Prepare conceptual designs, final design and construction plans and specifications under the direction and supervision of the Engineer of Record

  • Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering design

  • Function as a staff civil site engineering intern

  • Assemble civil engineering construction and permit documents including but not limited to plans and reports

  • Preparation of applications and forms for plan approvals and permitting

  • Maintain and update civil engineering records and reports

  • Perform intern level engineering work in the office and field related to civil engineering and construction projects

  • Verify and backcheck all work prior to submittal to the Engineer of Record, project lead, project manager or supervisor

  • Provide engineering support during construction

  • Coordination with other in-house and out-of-office team members

  • Perform related engineering intern duties and responsibilities as assigned
