Production Support Lead

At our proprietary lab in De Pere, WI, we manufacture quality eyewear for our eye care center patients at over 140 locations across the North and Midwest. With a focus on continuous improvement, we are always looking for motivated and innovative people that want to help us optimize the production and distribution of this process.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of Production Support teammates within

the Production Support Department. Serve as the technical lead for the area. Be the

expert on efficient operations in the department. Key focus on job flow and staffing levels

to achieve quality, productivity and turnaround goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONS

• Plan, organize, direct and control the work of staff in order to meet quality, productivity and turnaround goals in the Production Support Department

• Interact with Production Support Manager to coordinate efforts and communicate effectively with teammates.

• Use problem solving techniques to proactively address issues or concerns within the department. Elevate to Production Support Manager for resolution when appropriate

• Maintain inventory levels for materials used in the Production Support Department

• Order supplies timely to ensure seamless production job flow

• Manage inbound package delivery and outbound shipping and handling process

• Perform production duties alongside Production Support Department teammates

TRAINING AND IMPROVEMENT

• Ensure teammates have received applicable training to perform all aspects of their job including equipment operations/work and safety procedures as outlined in their respective job description

• Provide manager with input for teammate’s performance reviews and development plans

• Partner with teammates in Production Support Department to give performance feedback

• Recommend or implement measures to motivate teammates and to improve morale, production methods, efficiency, equipment performance, productivity and product quality

MAINTAIN SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ensure teammates follow all Optical Lab and company policies and adhere to safety related guidelines

• Complete accident reports and follow accident communication procedures

• Perform stretching before reporting to workstation

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Graduate or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years of previous related experience in optical (eyewear) manufacturing, retail or other relevant leadership experience

• Demonstrated hands on leadership capability

• Exceptional organizational skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication

• Able to read and write at a high school graduate level

• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

• Able to operate various Optical Lab equipment and office equipment

• Demonstrate physical agility (bending, climbing, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, reaching, etc.) on a repetitive basis

• Ability to lift an average of 25-35 pounds on a repetitive basis and up to 75 pounds

• Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception)

• Manual and finger dexterity, as well as hand/arm steadiness

• Ability to grip and hold items

• Good eye and hand coordination

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

• Ability to perform work in various departments within the lab based on business needs

• Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines

• Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
