The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for processing, verifying, and preparing consumer loan applications from initial intake through closing. This role ensures that all loan files are accurate, complete, compliant with regulatory requirements, and processed efficiently to support timely loan decisions and funding.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Interviews members, assists with selecting loan products and processes the application.
  • Ensures that proper documentation is received and completed.
  • Cross sells loan disability, life, and GAP insurance. Covers 60% of the total dollars processed to maintain goal.
  • Cross-sells Credit Union services to members and assists coworkers with questions and/or research when necessary.
  • Logs into the ICD group daily and assists with member calls in a timely manner.
  • Files loan documents with the appropriate agencies. Verifies that liens are perfected, and titles are received in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements

  • To provide professional, friendly and accurate service to members and co-workers.
  • To produce, close, and complete member loan documents, reports, etc. in a timely fashion, with minimal errors.
  • To prepare member loan documents and scan within 7 days of original loan date.
  • To proactively seek to cross sell credit union products and services for the betterment of the member and meet 60% goal on debt cancellation products.
  • To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
  • To monitor titles in process from secured loans and work title report monthly. Titles should be received within 60 days of the original loan date.

Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
  • Must have good communication skills. 10-key calculator, typewriter, and keyboard skills.
  • A high school education or GED.
