River Run is a shared services organization that supports banking affiliates, Newburyport Bank, Pentucket Bank and Rollstone Bank & Trust.ย 


The Applications & Data Analyst supports business applications, data integration, reporting, data quality, and analytics across the bank. This role collaborates with technology, operations, and business teams to ensure accurate data, reliable reporting, effective application support, and secure handling of sensitive information. Experience with banking applications, generative or agentic AI, workflow orchestration, or AI-assisted development is a plus.ย 


Essential Job Functions

Application Support & Integration

  • Support, monitor, and maintain core banking and business applications; troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolutions with vendors and internal teams.
  • Assist with system integrations, APIs, automated workflows, file transfers, and data exchange processes, including development, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Support application implementations, upgrades, configuration changes, user acceptance testing, and application lifecycle activities, including documentation, change management, and releases.

Data Management & Transformation

  • Assist with developing, maintaining, and monitoring data transformation processes for reporting, analytics, and integrations.
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems, reports, and dashboards, and maintain documentation for data definitions, transformation logic, and business rules.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain operational, management, and regulatory reports and dashboards using reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Work with business users to gather reporting, application, and data requirements; document specifications and support self-service reporting solutions.
  • Maintain report inventories, metadata, and reporting standards, and assist with automating recurring reporting processes.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Follow information security, cybersecurity, and data privacy policies when handling sensitive customer and business information.
  • Support data governance, regulatory compliance, and internal and external audit requests related to data, reporting, and application controls.

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Maintain documentation for reports, dashboards, integrations, workflows, application configurations, and operating procedures.
  • Participate in projects that improve reporting efficiency, integration reliability, and data accessibility.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, analytics methods, AI capabilities, and responsible technology practices in financial services.

Requirements

Qualifications, Experience, and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 1-2 years of experience in technology, data, analytics, business systems, or a related field; relevant internships, academic projects, or equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of databases, SQL, data analysis concepts, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of banking or financial services, including regulatory reporting, audit, compliance, or operational risk reporting.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau; exposure to ETL tools, APIs, file transfers, or application integration.
  • Familiarity with Python, R, PowerShell, or other scripting languages, as well as cloud-based data platforms and modern automation tools.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools, including generative AI, copilots, or agents, for reporting, data analysis, documentation, research, code generation, or workflow automation.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn emerging AI technologies and responsible AI practices within a regulated financial services environment.

Technical Skills

  • SQL, Microsoft Excel, Power BI or similar BI/reporting platforms, data transformation and ETL concepts, APIs and application integration, file transfers and automated workflows, Microsoft 365, and basic scripting; Python or PowerShell preferred.ย
