Job Description:
The Application Engineer supports sales by providing technical HVAC system design, equipment selection, and application support to clients, contractors, and internal sales teams. This role ensures the successful integration of solutions in commercial building and industrial projects. The Application Engineer is the primary support resource for our customers, partners and outside sales team. They are responsible for working collaboratively with the outside sales team as a technical advisor and product advocate. The Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all commercial and technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary: 
  • Review project specifications and drawings to select appropriate equipment
  • Prepare equipment schedules, submittals, and technical documentation
  • Support the sales team with quotes, proposals, and value engineering
  • Collaborate with design engineers, contractors, and end-users
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to equipment or applications
  • Assist with project lifecycle support from pre-sale through installation
  • Stay current on HVAC technologies, codes, and best practices
  • Assist outside sales team in executing and achieving their territory and market business plans.
  • Prepare basic takeoffs based on plan review and specifications
  • Listen, understand and convey customer requirements.
Additional: 
  • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
  • Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects.
  • Identify and communicate customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.

Experience and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
    • Alternately: Minimum 2 years certificate or associates degree in a technical program such as Mechanical Engineering
  • 1-5 years of experience in HVAC design, sales support, or applications engineering (internships may count)
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, Industrial processes, and building mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Software Skills (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)
  • Team Player attitude
